In addition to the above, below are some of our tips which will help you in planning your backpacking trip to Sri Lanka. 5. Logistics Devote some time to decide the logistics for your backpacker trip. This means, roughly plan out which destinations you want to visit and for how long you plan on staying there. 6. A GPS tracking device This will always be useful when it comes to finding the route to be taken in case you get lost. 7. Weather Conditions An understanding of the weather conditions in Sri Lanka is a must. You are likely to encounter very hot & humid weather right throughout your trip. Pack suitable clothing and gear based on this. 8. Rent a car to make traveling around the country easier Save money on lodging and accommodation by renting a car on your backpacking trip to Sri Lanka. Most backpackers travel from one location to another using public transport. However, considering that the Sri Lankan public transport system is not the greatest, and accommodation is not the cheapest, you may be able to save lots when the time comes for an over-night stay. Renting a car in Sri Lanka may save you lots of money as you will be able to take a quick nap in the vehicle and it would also enable you to go from one place to the other at ease and comfort.
